SWISS to introduce “Flightpass” for Geneva

SWISS to introduce “Flightpass” for Geneva
SWISS is to introduce the Flightpass, offering ten one-way flights within Europe from or to Geneva, in October. The new product has been jointly developed with the Lufthansa Innovation Hub.

In view of the success of its trial phase, SWISS is now permanently introducing its Flightpass product offering ten one-way flights on its Geneva-based European network. Customers can choose from a City Pass or a Discover Europe Pass, which can both be obtained from the swiss-flightpass.ch website from October onwards. Interested persons can register today and will be informed as soon as the Flightpass is available. The number of passes is strictly limited. The two passes, which are available for as little as CHF 899, can be customized to cover selected groups of destinations and longer or shorter advance reservation periods, depending on the holder’s wishes and needs.

The Discover Europe Pass offers ten one-way flights within Europe from or to Geneva, and is ideal for anyone wishing to discover the continent with flexible reservation options and for a fixed fare.
The City Pass offers ten one-way flights between Geneva and a single European destination of the holder’s choice. Three fare categories are available here, each covering a range of destinations. The City Pass should be particularly attractive to frequent travellers to and from the same destination.

For both types of pass, the customer can decide whether they wish to be able to book their flights at least 30, 14 or seven days in advance, with their choice here determining the final price of the pass. Once purchased, the Flightpass will be valid within 12 months.

The new Flightpass product offers numerous advantages, including substantial advance booking flexibility, price stability and a range of 38 European destinations served non-stop from Geneva. Holders can also take advantage of the Flightpass’s fast and efficient automated booking platform.

Carbon offset option, too
The booking platform swiss-flightpass.ch also offers users the option of offsetting the CO2 emissions generated by their air travel by paying an additional CHF 80 on top of their Flightpass’s price. Some 95% of this amount will go to the Swiss-based myclimate foundation for use in climate protection projects, while 5% will be used to purchase sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which produces up to 80% less CO2 emissions than fossil aviation fuel. Further information on SAF is available on the compensation platform compensaid.de, also developed by the Lufthansa Innovation Hub.
The idea for the Flightpass was created by the Lufthansa Innovation Hub, the central digitization unit of the Lufthansa Group, and further developed and technically implemented together with SWISS.
